As we approach the end of the year, the city of Bethlehem in Pennsylvania is abuzz with excitement for the return of the 17th annual Peepsfest. This family-friendly festival, renowned for its signature 400-pound Peeps Chick Drop, is an exciting way for families to usher in the New Year amidst fun-filled activities and entertainment.
What to Expect at the Festival
Hosted by Just Born Quality Confections and ArtsQuest, the festival is scheduled to run from 3:00-6:00 p.m. EST on December 30 and 31. With an array of programs lined up, families can look forward to live performances, engaging games, creative crafts, and appearances by beloved characters.
Interactive Activities and Shows
Various activity zones, hosted by local partners like PBS39, will offer a range of activities. These include bracelet-making and sensory-friendly play spaces. Attendees can also experience interactive shows presented by the Da Vinci Science Center and the Wildlands Conservancy. Moreover, food enthusiasts can learn new recipes from Levy Restaurants’ Chef Julie. As a highlight, the iconic, illuminated 400-pound Peeps Chick Drop takes place at 5:35 p.m., followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
Dining Options and Complimentary Gifts
Aside from the signature Peeps treats, families can enjoy meals from various food vendors, including Pat’s Pizza & Bistro Trailer, Travelin’ Toms Coffee Truck, Levy Restaurants, and Duck Donuts. Additionally, children aged 12 and under will receive a complimentary Peeps-themed tote. These totes can be used to collect treats throughout the festival, including exclusive Peeps merchandise and holiday goodies.
Ticket and Admission Details
Tickets for the festival are priced at $5 per guest, excluding fees. Children aged 1 and under will be admitted free of charge. To facilitate families with younger children, the gates will open at 2:45 p.m., allowing for ample playtime after naptime.
