Chuck E. Cheese Makes Birthdays More Inclusive for Autistic Children

Chuck E. Cheese Collaborates with Autism Speaks for Sensory Sensitive Birthdays

In honor of World Autism Month, Chuck E. Cheese, the renowned family entertainment center and restaurant, has partnered with Autism Speaks, a leading autism advocacy organization, to introduce Sensory Sensitive Birthdays. This unique party experience is designed to accommodate the sensory needs of children with autism, offering the same level of fun and excitement as a traditional Chuck E. Cheese party, while ensuring a comfortable and flexible environment.

The Inclusive Birthday Experience

In collaboration with Autism Speaks, Chuck E. Cheese has crafted party packages to cater to the individual needs of children. This entails a quieter setting, dimmed lights, and an overall calmer environment, making it easier for children to fully enjoy their day of games and activities. The initiative is part of Chuck E. Cheese’s commitment to inclusivity, working alongside Sensory Safe to create spaces that allow children of all abilities to participate and enjoy.

What Does a Sensory Sensitive Birthday Include?

The Sensory Sensitive Birthdays incorporate features of the Mega Fun or Ultimate Fun birthday packages, including two hours of unlimited gameplay, ice cream, and more. Families have the flexibility to choose whether to include certain sensory elements, such as the singing of “Happy Birthday,” a visit from Chuck E. Cheese himself, or the Ticket Blaster experience. All parties are hosted by trained team members, ensuring that the birthday celebration is fun, safe, and inclusive for all children.

Sensory Sensitive Sundays and World Autism Month

The Sensory Sensitive Birthday experience is available during Chuck E. Cheese’s established Sensory Sensitive Sundays, which occur on the first Sunday of every month. In recognition of World Autism Month, Chuck E. Cheese is hosting two Sensory Sensitive Sundays this month. Select locations will celebrate on April 12, while all corporate locations across the U.S. and Canada will celebrate on April 16.

Supporting Autism Speaks

Throughout the month, guests also have the opportunity to support Autism Speaks through Chuck E. Cheese’s national fundraiser. With a donation of $10, Birthday Stars can collect five times the e-tickets in the Ticket Blaster when they host Mega Fun or Ultimate Fun birthday parties through April 15. Additionally, a donation of $5 at checkout will reward partygoers with 500 e-tickets.
