PBS Kids Adds New Series to Popular Franchises
It’s an exciting time for young readers as PBS Kids has announced the release of two new series that expand the worlds of beloved children’s franchises Super Why! and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Super Why! Returns with a Comic Book Twist
PBS Kids continues to build on its popular educational superhero franchise with the release of Super Why’s Comic Book Adventures this fall. The new series uses a comic book-inspired universe to engage young viewers, launching each seven-minute episode into a world of adventure and learning.
The new series, set to premiere on Oct. 5, reintroduces kids to characters like Super Why, Wonder Red, Alpha Pig, and Princess Presto. A new character, Power Paige, joins the team, adding to the fun and excitement. The show goes beyond entertainment, fostering knowledge of the alphabet, symbolic phonological and phonemic awareness, and comprehension skills in young kids.
Clifford the Big Red Dog: New Adventures Await
Coming in 2022, PBS Kids plans to bring a fresh spin on the popular children’s buddy comedy with a new Clifford the Big Red Dog series. Fans of the original series will be thrilled to see Emily Elizabeth and Clifford return for new adventures, teaching kids how they can positively impact their communities and make new friends.

The new series will comprise 26 episodes, each featuring an interactive game and two 11-minute stories. It continues to promote the story’s core values, instilling social problem-solving skills and a sense of community in young viewers.
Interactive Learning with PBS Kids
In addition to the new shows, PBS Kids will also release accompanying games on its official website and the PBS Kids Games app. Digital Super Why! storybooks will also be available, providing another interactive way for children to engage with the characters and concepts from the show.
