Mattel’s New Masters of the Universe Books Empower Kids to Read
With the power of reading, children can now explore the mystical world of Eternia, as Mattel releases new Masters of the Universe (MOTU) books. These exciting literary offerings include novels, original stories, comics, and more, all based on the iconic franchise.
Books Inspired by the New Film
Timed with the theatrical release of the upcoming live-action film, Mattel has released four books that will allow kids to relive He-Man’s adventures. Masters of the Universe: The Junior Novel is a tween-friendly rendition of the film’s story. Meanwhile, younger audiences can enjoy the tales of heroism and bravery in Masters of the Universe: The Power Within and Masters of the Universe: I Am He-Man!.
Other titles include Teela: Daughter of Eternos, offering a deep dive into the character of Teela, and Masters of the Universe: The Art of the Film, a visual treat for fans of the franchise’s unique artistry.
Comic Books and Graphic Novels
As part of the MOTU universe expansion, a new comic book and graphic novel are also being launched. Dark Horse Comics’ Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate is a fresh four-issue comic series. Additionally, TokyoPop’s manga-style graphic novel, Masters of the Universe: Legends of Eternia, offers a new take on the classic tale.
Additional MOTU-Inspired Books
Beyond the film, Mattel offers even more MOTU-inspired content. Adults can reconnect with their childhood favorites with the Retro Power! Coloring Book, featuring original 1980s art of He-Man and She-Ra, while tweens can enjoy the humorous picture book Skeletor Has No Friends, where the villain learns about the importance of being nice. Further, the original middle-grade book Skeletor Ate My Homework follows the adventures of a boy named Porter who finds himself in Eternia.
As we look forward to 2026, families can expect even more MOTU products, games, and content to engage with, further expanding the universe of Masters of the Universe.
