Disney Brings Magic to America’s 250th Birthday Celebration
The entertainment giant, Disney, is set to brandish its wand of magic by adding a sprinkle of pixie dust to the celebration of America’s 250th birthday. This initiative, named Disney Celebrates America, is designed to usher in a series of star-spangled events that encapsulates the rich heritage, landmarks, creativity, and history that define America.
Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness
The celebration, set to kick off on June 29, will begin with a 2-hour primetime special on ABC titled Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness. This program will explore the nation’s traditions and triumphs through the unique lens of Disney Parks attractions.
A 24-hour July 4th Broadcast
Disney is set to air an unprecedented 24-hour July 4th broadcast across its various platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic, FX, ESPN, ABC, and all its affiliated networks and TV stations. This program, hosted by World News Tonight anchor David Muir, will delve into defining moments in the nation’s 250-year history. The broadcast will also feature live events, performances, and on-site reporting from across the states.
Additional Programming Highlights
Disney’s itinerary includes special editions of Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, SportsCenter, and Nightline. Coast-to-Coast Patriotism
The celebration does not stop on TV screens. Disney Cruise Line will host patriotic activities, and new versions of Soarin’ will open in EPCOT and Disney California Adventure Park on July 2. These new versions will showcase iconic cities and landscapes from across the U.S. Visitors to the parks can also expect to enjoy themed food and beverage offerings, merchandise, decor, parades, band performances, nighttime entertainment, and events like flag retreat ceremonies.
Disney’s Commitment to Supporting U.S. Service Members
As part of this patriotic campaign, Disney is renewing its long-standing relationship with Blue Star Families. The company is committing $2.5 million to help support U.S. service members and their families. The donations will fund a variety of experiences and programs throughout the year, such as the 25th Disney and Blue Star Books event in Washington, D.C., at the Library of Congress, as well as storytime activities and character appearances.

More events will be revealed in the coming months as the countdown to July 4th continues. For more information about Disney Celebrates America, visit thewaltdisneycompany.com.
