Elmo Embarks on a Safari Adventure for 45th Season of PBS’s Nature
In a unique and exciting partnership, PBS and Sesame Workshop are taking the beloved characters from Sesame Street on their first-ever safari adventure. This special event is set to premiere this fall, marking the kickoff of the 45th season of PBS’s acclaimed series, Nature.
First Episode Features Elmo, Abby, and Nina in The Great Elephant Adventure
The first episode of the new season, titled “Sesame Street and the Great Elephant Adventure,” will air on Oct. 14. In this special episode, the Sesame Street gang, including Elmo, Abby, and Nina, embarks on an exciting journey to meet a baby elephant they adopted online. Their adventure takes them to The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, where they get to meet the baby elephant and its keepers. The episode aims to educate children and their families about various animals, the environment, and the importance of conservation and kindness.
More Educational Adventures to Come
After the thrilling elephant adventure, the rest of the season promises an array of exciting and educational episodes. Viewers can look forward to learning about the remarkable work of Dr. Jane Goodall and her pioneering research on chimpanzees. Other episodes will feature documentaries on the American Amazon, tigers, pangolins, and wolverines. Additionally, “Wild London with David Attenborough” will explore how wildlife adapts to thrive in bustling cities.

The 45th season of Nature will air on PBS starting Oct. 14, with new episodes available each Wednesday. The series will also be accessible to stream on all PBS platforms, including pbs.org and the PBS App. Select episodes will also be available on the Nature YouTube channel.
